Lessons Learnt

As I sat by the window

Watching the raindrops 

Trickle down the pane

I wondered

O dear, I've been insane

I spent my days

Pondering over thoughts

That couldn't matter less

Things that made me

A complete and utter mess 

I dreamt of the hand

That pulled my heart out

Without blinking the eye

Leaving me with no tears to cry

I stared as you walked away 

Stood there dumbfounded 

You dug my grave

While I looked astounded

You shovelled dirt on my grave

While my breath was intact

My heart beating as if

It wasn't greased and glued

Still there was something

My life, which chewed

As I lost your sight

I closed my eyes

Searched for you 

With all my might

You were long gone

But your memories 

Are what I hold onto tight

And the lesson I learnt

To let go where for feelings

You have to fight..!!
