A Little Dream

I had a little dream last night
I was at an office that felt so right!
The boss was weird but caring too
Desperate to be liked
There was something, he was always upto
He had an assistant - a kiss-ass, conservative
He wanted to be at the top and was a loyal friend
The one who achieved his goal finally at the end
His love life was tattered but he never gave up
Even when his stapler was put in a jello filled cup
There was an acapella singer who tried really hard to fit in
He was a little boy who was seeking validation from within
There was an angry uncle who knew he could earn more
But his team he adored
The woman he shared the desk with
Was a little matronly
Who eventually learnt to speak her mind brazenly
There was a group of 3 financial minds
One funny, one witty and one perpetually angry
They ganged up on one another every now and then
But with any external threat, their unity would awaken
And then was a prankster couple made in heaven
They laughed and giggled
Fought and snuggled
But always found their way to each other
I watched them all as an outsider
I watched as they became from enemies to friends to family
And made me love them instantly
Suddenly, I woke up with my alarm blaring
Awake and staring at the ceiling, I wondered
Was this a utopian world - I pondered
My left brain suddenly sprang to action
No silly, it said
This is what every office is like
You hate them all but you also love them all
You compete, support and fight
No matter where you are, you will always find
An Oscar, a Stanley, an Angela, a Michael, a Jim & a Dwight!
